- DPDenise PreciadoMay 27, 20251.0I’ve worked at a financial institution, and I know that damage bills can be exchange. As I am aware that policies change, I did go to the Wells Fargo website to confirm that a damage bill can be exchanged, which in fact a damage bill CAN be exchanged if 50% of the bill is present. I arrived at the branch, and when I reached teller, I was told it couldn’t be done. First, I was told it couldn’t be done, if it was missing the serial number, which my bill was not missing. Then she went to ask another worker, which I take it was the lead teller or branch manager. The person who they asked also said no because it was missing the corner piece that showed the reflective hundred amount. The teller tried to give me a website to file a claim for the damage bill and in return I would get a mailed check. I told her no, that I would just go to another bank. And sure enough, CHASE was able to exchange bill. The person that did the exchange at Chase also confirmed that Wells Fargo could have done the exchange since it was just a corner piece that was damaged . Both workers at Wells Fargo were negligent, careless, and lazy!! Please avoid this location, will be terminating my accounts with Wells Fargo!! It’s not the first bad experience with Wells Fargo, it’s customer experience has drastically declined!!!
