  My adult son and I went to Wells Fargo in Newbury Park. All we wanted to do was close a custodial savings account and put the money into an existing WF savings account which my son had. We were put through a ridiculous amount of red tape. First they had to change the money from the initial savings accounts into a Wells Fargo cashier’s check, even though the money was just going into an existing savings account. Then we had to sign over the cashier’s check to Wells Fargo. Then the teller (Khadija) put us through an investigation bc she didn’t believe my son’s signature was an exact match on her screen. We both had our driver’s licenses and debit cards with us. We were able to put the debit card with our PIN numbers bc we were not fraudulent customers. She didn’t believe us and interrogated my son with multiple questions. Then they put a hold on the Wells Fargo cashier’s check they just drafted! We were told we would not have access to the funds we took out from our own Wells Fargo account! The teller was rude. Her supervisor Samuel was rude and condescending. I have eight different accounts with Wells Fargo. I am seriously considering closing all of my accounts with Wells Fargo. Then when I asked how I can file a complaint, I was told they would file it on my behalf. Seriously? I’m supposed to trust that an employee who was rude and condescending would write my complaint? Talk about a conflict of interest! I told him not to bother, I will post my complaint on google and yelp reviews.

  Visited the Wells Fargo on Broadbeck Dr this A.M. Only one teller was open, so I had to wait for 11 minutes to get served. When I asked the teller that I was going to deposit $420 cash to my wifes CC, he told me the Bank does not allow that = but that I can go to the ATM and do it without any issues. I debated that this was a silly rule that could be circumvented easily and of course, it made no sense at all. I asked to speak to the Manager, who was called over, The Manager had been at the front working with another teller while I was waiting in line. I waited for a few minutes for the Manager to wrap up what he was working on. Then I advised him that what he was doing could be done at any time - as the Bank was empty - but losing a potential customer through blatant disregard could not ever be repaired. As a former Executive manager of Banking institutions, I can say that Management at this Bank is poor.

  Staff is friendly but are always understaffed. I sit here in line, yet again, with only one register open, wondering why I still bank with Wells.

  Norman and Oriane Rousseau were one more couple pushed by a huge, greedy bank to the brink of homelessness. On Sunday, desperate and with nowhere to go, Norman Rousseau shot himself. The quick version of this terrible story is that Norman and Oriane Rousseau of Newbury Park, California were scammed into a predatory mortgage. But they made their payments anyway, always paying with a cashier’s check in person at the same branch. Then one day the bank misapplied their payment and said they still owed the money. This started a long, nasty process that led to the bank evicting the Rousseaus from their home. Here’s the shocker: right at the start the Rousseaus came up with proof that the bank had received the payment and had cashed the check. But the bank continued to claim it had missed the payment, gave the Rousseaus the runaround, started applying fees, and used it as an excuse to foreclose on the house anyway. The Rousseaus fought back, the bank dragged it out for so long and pulled so many tricks, getting its way every step of the process, until this last Sunday Norman Rousseau finally gave up and shot himself in despair – two days before the scheduled eviction, Tuesday, May 15. (The Rousseau’s lawyer just said he was able to win a 2-week delay.)
