- MMMoOct 21, 20252.0I wanted to cash out some money, but I was told that they can only do half the amount because they "don't have enough" and must "wait for the ATM to fill back up again." They said I should have called ahead and advised me to go to a different Wells Fargo to get the rest. I was flabbergasted because it's a bank! Did they plan to shutdown the bank for running out of money and tell the people in line behind me to go somewhere else? When asked this, the teller couldn't answer. I never had issues with even larger amounts than this, but this experience made it so hard to take out my own money. After some back and forth and my situation clearly being audible to the other customers (I felt embarrassed), I conceded to half the amount and filled out the slip as such. However, they came back and said they actually had enough, and it wouldn't be a problem. They ripped up the previous slip and made me fill out another one for the full amount. At the end, I got my money (two envelopes only), but it was a poor experience. 1 star for the experience, but another since I actually got the money. Perhaps, it was a genuine operational/logistical error for the bank to not have enough money, but it surely didn't feel that way despite what they were saying. Although I've been with Wells Fargo for decades, these types of experiences make me think even more about switching banks.

Today the teller, wish I got his name, helped deposit a birthday check for my son and gave back $20 in quarters to help with his 50 state quarter collection. The manager, Tyler, went out of his way to assist me in gathering some records, even though the branch is currently short staffed. Tyler and his staff are all great assets to Wells Fargo and it's customers.
