- MMMandana MassoudiNov 21, 20251.0I’ve been a loyal Wells Fargo customer for many years, and I even keep my safe deposit box at this branch. But today, I had one of the most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had at a bank. I went to the Sharon Heights branch in Menlo Park CA to deposit a check. The manager refused to accept it simply because the check was written to “cash,” even though I had endorsed it on the back and I am an established customer with a long history at this location. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she questioned me in a disrespectful way and said, “How do we know you didn’t just find this check?” As someone who has trusted this branch for years—with both my personal accounts and direct deposits—I found her comment extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. It felt like she didn’t know the actual banking policies or how to treat long-time customers. To make things worse, I left the branch feeling so rushed and upset that I’m not even sure I locked my safe deposit box properly before leaving. This experience was unacceptable, and I truly hope Wells Fargo provides proper training on customer service and professionalism. Long-time customers deserve better than being treated like suspects. But the reason for my low rating is this: several years ago, one of the staff at this branch tried to take over as account manager of a Wells trade account. this problem permeates all the way through Wells Fargo, but this particular branch was more aggressive than others. But, the location is very nice.
