Incredible customer service from Juan, Cindy and Natasha. They are great ambassadors for your bank and brand. I was traveling to Europe for three weeks and Cindy was incredible in facilitating my purchases of all hotels, flights, and activities prior to my departure . Natasha was thorough and professional in making sure that I did not have any issues using my Washington Federal card in Switzerland, France or Spain. Juan was critical in making sure I was able to have enough euros for my trip. The foreign Currency exchange only took one day at Washington Federal. That’s amazing. In this environment of mega banks, charging incredible fees, Washington Federal and the people associated with it stand out as providing exceptional customer service and a hometown, community feel.

I have been trying to get a debit card sent to my new address since July 1st, I still don't have one as of today August 18th. When I first called they put my new address as my mailing address, I'm a college student who moves around a lot, the associate did not put my address into the system correctly, causing an error that was only caught on July 17th I later found out but wasn't told until the 23rd. My card was charged on July 3rd for a lost fee and so I gave the mailing system longer than the suggested 7-10 business days due to the holiday. I waited until July 23rd, 16 business days after I originally called, 13 business days since my card was charged, not including the 4th of July. A different associate put my address in correctly and had a new one sent due to the error by the first associate. After waiting almost the higher estimated arrival date I wanted to make sure the address was right so I called on the 9th business day, August 5th, to check, the associate said my address was right, even triple checking for me and to give it until Friday, August 9th, 13 business days after I called. It did not come. I called August 9th and talked to the associate Cindy and she gave me two options; to wait longer or to have a debit card sent to the bank, which is almost an hour and a half from my house. Not trusting the mailing system anymore I asked to have it sent to the bank. Cindy had talked to the debit card office at WaFd and said that it takes less time for the bank to receive debit cards and to expect it in a week and she would try to expedite it without charging me since I had waited so long, she was not able to do so, but did not tell me. I then called on Friday August 16th, when Cindy said the bank should have my card, and they did not have it. I was also told by Juan, a male associate, that it takes the same amount of time for the bank to get debit cards as it does for the card to be sent to a home, and to expect it on August 23rd, this next week. I also was charged a second lost fee on Wednesday August 13th even though I never received a new card to lose. I will be calling to ask to be reimbursed for the Second lost fee when the bank opens next. I have waited 34 business days and 48 non-business days or 6.8 weeks for my card when the estimation customers are given is 7-10 business days or around 14-16 non-business days. My family has banked with WaFd for 28 years and we have never had an issue when we have lost our debit cards and needed to get new ones nor have we had issues with associates making promises that they can't keep plus telling customers lies. WaFd needs to fix the errors in their system and better train associates with their system before they help customers.
