Yesterday I made a transfer at the counter handing the teller my ATM card for both the from and to accounts. The teller accidently sent the money to an unknown location - an error discovered within the hour and I returned to the counter to remedy. Here is the kicker. The bank and its manager cannot retrieve the misplaced deposit, cannot reverse the transaction and offered no remedy other that I should talk to a service rep in India or wherever. After two hours+ I gave up, insisted that the deposit be retrieved and was told by the manager that I should file a complaint with the bank - maybe there would be a resolution in 7 - 10 days! So my bank has an internal error, misallocates my money to an account that is not mine, and I NEED TO FIND A WAY TO RETRIEVE IT!!!! totally unacceptable and bordering on fraudulent. I have no understanding why a bank would be this incapable and I would recommend another bank which can actually fix its own errors. I will be moving all my accounts.
