The employee confirmed they could cash them and told me to bring my ID, driver’s license, and Social Security number. After driving to the location, I filled out all the required information, handed over my checks, and was even told to hold my check while they took my picture — which I did. Everything seemed fine until the employee said she needed to call her boss. She took pictures of my checks and ID and sent them somewhere — I have no idea to whom. After several minutes, she came back and said, “Sorry, I can’t cash these because your SSN isn’t showing up in our system.” At that point, I was extremely frustrated. They had taken all my personal information and photos for nothing. It’s very concerning, especially with how common identity theft has become. I ended up going to Chase Bank instead, opened an account, and cashed my checks easily — no issues, no strange picture-taking, no runaround. ⚠️ My advice: Do not trust ACE Cash Express with your personal or financial information. Their process felt careless and unsafe. Be cautious — your identity is worth protecting.
