I tried going to the branch in Westchester and they said they don't cash the checks their members write at that branch if one isn't a member. They have print outs of branches that do. So I came to this branch in Hawthorne. I asked what that was about because no other banks do this sort of thing. "Susan" i think, got an attitude about it. Then she asked me for my Social Security number on a sticky note, or they would not cash the check. Which i refused. No other banking institutions do this. I cash my customer's checks all the time at BofA. Wells, Chase, and on and on. Never have they refused to honor their members checks as long as there are sufficient funds. AND NEVER HAS ANY ASKED ME FOR MY SSN ON A STICKY NOTE. This place is ludicrous. Don't get an account here! People you write checks to will be treated like trash, which looks bad on you as a member.
