Janice Azsren is rude and seems to have a lack of care for African-American and Latino people. I visited the bank today to cash a check from a client who has been there many times without any issues. However, before I could even sit down, she asked, "Hey, what do you want?" I greeted her, saying, "Hi, how are you? I’m here to cash a check." As I was opening the envelope to give her the check, she abruptly stated, “Oh, we can’t cash it” before even looking at it. Then she said, “Oh yeah, it’s too much. We have to order it. It will be ready in two weeks.”
I asked to speak with the manager, and she said, “Oh, I don’t think he’s available right now.” She went into the back and returned, saying, “Oh, he’s on a call. I don’t know when he’ll be off.” I replied, “Oh, I’ll wait patiently.” When the manager finally came out, he started off politely, but then he received a call from her, which disrupted the conversation.
It’s frustrating that other banks in the city that serve African-American clients do not open accounts here. I sincerely hope that Janice Azsren will find some compassion. Malinda Fernando should consider hiring better staff.

A trusted friend told me about this bank - - Mom and I switched from Wells Fargo after decades, due to endless months/years of fraud issues happening to 2 accounts, even when closing and switching. So happy we did! And I agree with prior review of Sandra - she is amazingly kind and helpful, and makes us feel like friends! Glad we switched!

First Citizens Bank actually bought my bank (One West) in 2023. I've never stepped foot inside, but have used the Online Banking and have had nothing by praise. Everything is acurate and I'm happy so far. If it was not there, I would close my 3 accounts that I have had for 35+ years

From the moment I stepped in, David at front desk was quite pleasant and got my inquiry and directed me to personal banker THIMARI SEMAGE who took charge immediately. She was highly professional, knowledgeable, personable and friendly to my service dog. Was thorough about the types of accounts available and what each one entailed. We also had small talk about subjects in common. THIMARI is one very bright and career minded individual. My dog Briski took an immediate liking toward her. I opened a Platinum checking account and we all had a delightful time throughout. DAVID and THIMARI are the best part of 1st Citizens Bank. They both really should be management and the face of Citizens Bank. Thanks guys for everything including taking my money. BRISKI approved as well. A solid 5 STARS for this encounter!
