Brought my grandmother in today as she wanted to deposit and transfer money into a particular account with the bank teller while I sat down. I had walked over because I could hear the bank teller increasingly starting to sound either annoyed or raising his voice. My grandmother noticed that it went into the wrong account but the teller said he fixed it. Obviously it was not fixed because when she went to use the card it was declined three times before I noticed that it was in fact not fixed. Thank you not.

My checking account is supposed to include free checks, but I was told that’s no longer the case, and I was charged for a printed check. I asked to speak with the manager, Amber, and explained that this was an extenuating circumstance. I also mentioned that the Walnut Creek branch had waived a similar fee for me just a few weeks ago. Amber responded by saying that waiving the fee would be “committing a felony.” Seriously? Waiving a $3 fee is considered a felony in California, but stealing up to $900 without police action isn’t? That logic feels extreme. Not only did she refuse to waive the fee, but her demeanor was also unhelpful and unapologetic. After banking with Wells Fargo for over 20 years and handling all my financial needs with them, I expected better treatment. Unfortunately, this experience has left me questioning my loyalty to this branch—and possibly the bank overall.
