The eye-rolling attitudes, dismissive tone, and the constant feeling that I was bothering them by simply trying to run a business has been unbelievable. Frustrating to infuriating this banking experience has been the worst. The level of disrespect and malicious compliance has gone far beyond a “mistake” or a bad day — it has happened multiple times and it has had real consequences for my business As a sole proprietor, my personal name and my business name are legally the same. Any bank should understand that. Instead, TD repeatedly refused cheques made out to my business name, forcing me to ask clients to reissue payments — which was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. And it didn’t stop there. I tried to apply for a line of credit for payroll — Something any bank claiming to support entrepreneurship should encourage. Instead, TD canceled appointments, called before scheduled times then reviewed call history as if I was lying to them, then rescheduled only to say there was no availability. It felt like they were deliberately avoiding helping me. On top of that, when I was receiving legitimate hardship funds, I was put through stress and questioning just to access money that was rightfully mine. I had to argue just to survive financially — Humiliating... begging... for my own money so I can pay my guys. What makes this worse than inconvenience is the attitude behind it all. It wasn’t just policies — it was the way I was treated. The eye-rolling. The sighs. The tone that clearly said, “Why are you bothering us?” Small business owners don’t need every door opened for them, but we certainly don’t need our own bank slamming doors in our face. TD loves advertising support for entrepreneurs, but my experience has been the opposite. I needed a financial partner — what I got was resistance, delays, and disrespect. If you’re a business owner who needs a bank that actually wants you to grow, I would strongly suggest looking anywhere else. TD should stop advertising support for small business until they actually learn how to provide it. Do better.

I applied for an Aeroplan Visa credit card in person and specifically asked for the card to be sent to the branch so I could pick it up. Instead, it was sent to my old address where I no longer live. Every time I went to the branch to check, I was told, “Did we call you? If not, it’s not here.” But if the card was mailed to the wrong address, how would it ever be there? It took almost a month just to receive the card. On top of that, I already had an existing Aeroplan number and clearly asked for the card to be linked to it. Instead, they created a completely new Aeroplan number for me and didn’t link the old one at all.
