Worst experience I have ever had at a bank.
I went to get my bank statements, for the last cpl years, to get my taxes done.
I waited in the line, only to hear the teller, announcing the fact, that this lady had $14 in her account, asking her what she would like to do with all of it.
I thought that was rude and she could have been way more discreet.
My turn came up, and I was told there was a $360 charge for my statements.
$15 per month. I said I would come back the following day.
I came back the next day, to these people, after confirming that $360 was not the charge.
I was told they would call me in a cpl hours after it was printed, and, and that I could not wait for the paperwork(which they didnt call all day, as I knew they wouldn't, due to the attitude,and laughter as I left).
I was assuming that they were extremely busy with the two other people in the bank, and left.
I came back a half an hr to closing, after speaking to two different people at head office.
Head office had confirmed that what they were charging me was "unheard of" by one of them, and "ludicrous, and coaching was necessary,and that they were going to contact Alberni branch"
With this knowledge, I confronted the teller and manager. I asked them one last time, after two days of grief from them, if this is really what they wanted to do.
I had told them also, that I'd spoken to head office.
The manager came out and said "yes, I am sure of this, and that's the policy."
Fair enough, I told her and to go ahead, I will pay.
I walked out with a receipt, called head office, and was reimbursed by the time I rode my bicycle home.I have left the names of the "unkind staff" out if this, as they know who they are, and I feel it is not necessary to add, unless the unkindness continued. I have recorded phone calls and conversations also.
Please be careful and confirm any type of "charges" this branch may charge. I wonder how many senior citizens or unaware folk, have been overcharged in the past? This is the last place I would bank ever on the planet. I have since moved my TFSA savings account from there, and the rest of my accounts are to follow.

Every other employee and branch have been nothing but beautiful experiences. Nothing against the rest of the kind, and extremely helpful staff.
