I went to the bank about 20 minutes before they closed today. I received a $7k check from the government and my online bank won’t deposit a check that large. I figured they weren’t going to be able to open an account due to the time but I wanted to at least make an appointment. The two ladies at the front were very rude. Initially they said I would need an appointment to open an account to which I said that’s fine. Then when I told them I needed the account to deposit the check all a sudden they said they couldn’t help me. Then one of the ladies said the Del Sol grocery store can cash checks. I went to Del Sol to cash the check but they said they can’t cash a check that large. I live in Wellton and it’s just unfortunate that I can’t even open an account at the only local bank due to having a large check to deposit. Just makes no sense.
