  Don't go to Edna! I've been stuck with her twice now. She's super slow, you can barely understand her sometimes. What should take 20 min, took over an hour.

  UPDATE: I went in again with the social security card, waited for another hour. The manager finally approached me and told me to schedule for another day because they had to "honor other customers" (so I am not a customer?). I was extremely upset because I went in TWICE on the same day. I told her I brought my social security card as told, I asked if she could just make a copy of my card so I could get this done with. She insisted she could not because they hadn't even started the process of my legal name change (what?! I was told the social security card was the final step previously). I asked if there is a way I could just do it online and she said no, I had to come in person and God knows how many times and how many hours I have to waste again. So I just left and told her to go ahead and shred all the documents they copied earlier. I have decided to switch to another bank. The wait time to see a banker is always ridiculously long, even before pandemic (I waited for TWO hours before pandemic at another branch), not to mention the inconsistency in presenting their information, as well as their ability to complicate procedures. Totally lost my faith in Wells Fargo. ORIGINAL POST BELOW: I wanted to change my last name since I went through my divorce. I called the customer service hotline few weeks ago and confirmed that this location was open and I was told no appointment needed for my name change. I went there in person and waited in line for a long time only to be told that I needed to download the app and schedule an appointment. Wasted a day. Then I came in today as scheduled online. I got a confirmation call earlier and I was told to bring documents that show my name change. So I presented the court order as well as my new driver license. The banker was on the phone with Legal Department for a while, they denied my paper and said I needed to bring in my social security card which no one told me about. I am frustrated because I changed my last name with MVD, Social Security Office as we as another bank with the SAME divorce paper with NO problems. The processes were quick and easy. Wells Fargo made it far more complicated and inconvenient than it should. They needed my social security card that I used for name change with the same legal divorce paper that they don't accept. I just really don't understand the logic here. I am giving 1 star to Wells Fargo as a whole, not this branch.
