- SAStephen AnsonJul 12, 20232.0I went into Wells Fargo to open an account because historically Wells Fargo has been very eager to open accounts. You may remember that several years ago they were actually busted for opening accounts illegally in their customers names without their consent. Well, apparently Wells Fargo has done a complete 180. Apart from their former self of the slip-shot, fast food, Persian bazaar manner that they ran their business, now they have opted for a level of austerity.that frankly turns away customers. I was told that they couldn’t help me open an account because I had to make an appointment online. Walk in service is no longer done. But when I went to their website to make an appointment, the soonest appointment that I could see was for Friday, which would’ve been three days from then. I called a couple of other banks, I now bank at Pima credit union. They were able to see me right away and get me all set up. I gave them two stars because at least the guy that I talked to at Wells Fargo was honest about their system and didn’t act like it was a good idea.
