This is the only MidFirst Bank location where I struggle to get change. When I spoke to the branch manager Ann Marie her response was that not a lot of business use cash anymore...

I initially did business with the Tempe branch on Elliot however this review is primarily focused on MidFirst's corporate policies and customer service. I have banked with MidFirst from approximately 1995 to the present.
1) There are very few local branch offices. Something I became aware of after moving from Tempe to Carefree.
2) For many years the bank did not charge for non-MidFirst ATM withdrawals but dropped that policy years ago. They may have a relationship with Allpoint ATMs but I personally found it very inconvenient.
3) I experienced a frosty reception and terrible customer service at both the Camelback and Greenway branches and have tried to avoid them.
4) Very difficult process arranging Zelle.
5) Due to the above issues, I set up an account at a different bank
6) A few years ago, my daughter had money stolen from her MidFirst account in Boulder Co. It was abundantly clear from the start that fraud had taken place but the bank denied it and refused to reimburse her. After spending a great deal of time arguing with them, we presented to the bank a three page, typed, bullet point document detailing all the evidence, including the name and online location of the thief. Only then did MidFirst finally agree that fraud had taken place.
7) In the last 6 weeks I have had two $4000 deposits deleted from my account just days after being posted. I called and was told, "Oh, we're having trouble with our posting system" The money was subsequently returned to the account. Odd- I have never had a bank do that, let alone twice.
8) I recently established an external transfer account from my MidFirst checking to a separate bank. My wife's name is on both accounts which is required by MidFirst and it is also apparently preferred by them to have the primary account holder arrange the transfer account. None of this was explicitly stated by MidFirst prior to making the arrangement.
Then, I was led to believe the account was approved. But, when I moved some money over MidFirst froze my account without notification and called me the next day. They subsequently unfroze the account. However, they neglected unfreeze a pending online payment to my electric company. Because of this I was forced to send an expedited payment to avoid a late charge and a credit ding. MidFirst charged me $14.95 for the expedited payment. After two phone calls and an hour on hold the supervisor said she would try to reimburse me with a gift card but could not credit my account the $14.95. She said I would receive a call by the end of the day yesterday. As expected - no call.
9) It appears that this bank's fraud department is not very good at identifying fraud when it occurs and good at identifying fraud when it doesn't occur.
10) I am in the process of closing my MidFirst account after nearly 30 years and i would strongly recommend you avoid this bank.
