Miriam is by FAR the rudest & judgy employee here. You’re a manager at Wells Fargo, not a Private Investigator.
I just had an encounter with her, and upon her helping me, I explained why I was there, just to cash a check, I don’t have an account with them, and I had gone to a Wells Fargo on Alma School and Chandler Blvd (shout out to THEM, they were AMAZING, if they were open today, I wouldn’t have driven here) after leaving my actual bank—bc they wanted to hold it until Wednesday, (I needed the funds asap) as this is my first paycheck and I didn’t meet the deadline of getting my direct deposit over to my manager… so it was, for whatever reason, needed to be on hold until then, and Wells Fargo couldn’t verify it with my employer, she got the call too late (closing time) so I was advised by them to try today at one of their available branches… so I had told her i informed the owner of what happened and she said she’d be sure to be avail to verify.
And she asked for the check and to head over to the furthest bank teller, to the left (I forgot his name, older gentleman, he seemed decent) and she’d meet me there. He asked what I needed help with, and I told him she (pointed to Miriam) had my check? I was just there to deposit it. So she approached, the gentleman put in the numbers, Miriam asked me where I had gotten the check and I explained to her, my job, yesterday. I picked it up from my job, (even have texts from the office manager letting me know my check was avail for pick up…) and my boss signed off on it. I was still calm, although I sensed her biased response/energy.
Miriam: We’re not able to verify it.
Me: Okay, why?!? What is it saying?
Miriam: We’re just not able to verify…
Me: WHAT IS IT SAYING????
Miriam: Where did you get the check??
WHAT!?!? MY JOB. I just friggin told you, for the 3rd damn time. I told you, my boss was anticipating a phone call, as we spoke after I left the bank YESTERDAY and that you can call her to verify, as it is HER company and you told me you couldn’t. So then I get my boss on the line so then the lady was like, okay, well I can only call what number is associated to the company, not her directly… haha i get it, but just to FYI, IT’S THE SAME DAMN NUMBER.
She asked me to have a seat while she calls to verify. I have a seat, she’s talking… I then noticed her get off the phone and she had been helping others, that’s when I stand up and she sees me, and then says, “oh she can help you next…” and points to Karli. Karli asks for my info and 2 forms of I.D. and then says “I’m sorry about that…” I looked at her confused and she replied, “I heard a bit of the conversation…” I’m venting at this point as she’s trying to complete the transaction, then Mariam comes back and so I asked her how she was able to verify? She then said, “…It was just odd that I had a paper check, especially with fraud. Your boss said you were the only one to have a paper check and the others have direct deposit.” OKAY? ANNNND? I told you from the very start the situation, and about calling my boss to verify. I got straight to the point. And you denied me that, saying you possibly weren’t able to bc the back office wasnt there and couldn’t do it, but you could “try.”
Thank you Karli for the pleasant and positive experience on your end. It’s individuals like you, that should be in the position Miriam is in.
DO BETTER in the positions you give out, WELLS FARGO.
