The worst bank everrrrrr!! And this branch is even worst! I opened and made a deposit, after doing so they decided to close the account and send me my money by check instead of letting me getting it out at branch. The workers attitudes at all of the Truist branches are shitty and very unprofessional. Once they get you in, it’ll be a mess afterwards!! Save yourself trouble and do not bank here!

I recently visited a Truist Bank branch on Friday morning to cash a payroll check from my employer. Due to a recent cyberattack on our payroll system, employees were issued paper checks. I live and work between Georgia and Tennessee, so my driver's license is from Tennessee. While visiting family in Alabama for the holiday, I needed to cash the check, and since it was drawn on Truist, I assumed it would be a straightforward process. Upon entering the branch, I was greeted by a teller, an older Black woman with brown hair. I handed her the check and my ID, and from the beginning, I could sense tension. She examined both the check and my license repeatedly but never attempted to run the check through their system. Instead, she mentioned needing approval from her manager. When I asked if there was an issue, she vaguely responded with "maybe." Despite remaining polite, I felt the teller was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. She took the check to her manager, and I observed them scrutinizing it, seemingly trying to verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, I stood there feeling embarrassed as other customers watched, wondering what the issue was. Since it was a holiday, I couldn't immediately reach my employer or corporate for assistance. Frustrated, I approached the branch manager directly to inquire about the problem. She explained that additional protocols were necessary because the check was from Georgia, and my ID was from Tennessee. While we were speaking, corporate returned my call, and as I began explaining the situation, the branch manager dismissively stated that corporate wouldn’t be able to help. Finally, after what felt like an unnecessary ordeal, the manager instructed the teller to process the check and ID. Unsurprisingly, everything checked out perfectly. I left the branch feeling humiliated and deeply frustrated. I can't help but wonder if the treatment I received would have been different if I were white. This experience was unacceptable, and I plan to escalate the matter to Truist’s corporate office. If I could give a negative-1 I would have.
