  Southern States Bank was a MUCH better, much more service minded bank before FirstBank bought them. FirstBank could care less about service, they're downright rude when it comes to helping with my banking issues brought about by the death of my wife and they could care less about me, the customer. The teller was anything but helpful and the branch manager is arrogant and disrespectful. I can't think of any reason to have a bank account here and will soon be doing something about it. I just can't stand being treated disrespectfully and they have that down to a fine art! Don't do your banking here and if you have an account that was transferred to this bank, cancel it and go elsewhere. If I could give them zero stars the way I was treated, I would.

  Do not apply if you are a first time home buyer, as they have many rules and regulations that other lenders do not have.

  Teresa and team, It is with pleasure that I write on behalf of my experience with First Bank I couldn't put all I had to say in the survey. Teresa Milchuck you and your team has been absolutely amazing. Throughout the entire process, I have been supported systemically. During my initial application process, all issues were discussed and next steps were explained so that I would be able to be in the position financially and credit wise to purchase my new family home. From the very beginning, I was supported. The leadership team would consistently make this statement, “Mr.Henson let me work this on my end everything is going to ok". I was very confident that those who were handling my account were both professional and encouraging. After the initial process, my file was passed on to Mrs. Norionna Cox. Norionna, was very easy to work with and made me feel as if my concerns were her concerns. She spoke to my wife and consistently cleared up any misunderstandings and assisted in guiding us through the purchase process. I believe that Mrs. Cox is a person of great integrity and when offered to go to another lender, our family and I stayed with First Bank, because of the customer loyalty presented by each leader. My wife was very loyal to Mrs. Cox. She extended her services beyond just her job description. I also want to thank Ginger Schrimsher. She ensured that all documentation and final steps were completed with proficiency and helped in making my 25th anniversary goal come to life. My family and I are very grateful to each of you.   Great to do business with Teresa and her team! They always kept me informed of things promptly during my home purchase, and were always thankful each time I supplied the requested information. It was a pleasure being Teresa's client!
