My mother had three ribs broken while living here after being attacked by a staff member. They then tried to turn ME into Adult Protective Services, which was immediately dropped by APS. Mom was covered in bruises at varying stages of healing and spent months in the hospital. The residents were often left unattended (state records show this), the food served has zero nutrition, and the stove/oven don't work to the point the frozen food is barely cooked. Most of my mom's belongings disappeared, including jewelry and her electric toothbrush. The trauma my family was put through at the hands of this company and facility was frightenly horrible. I will NEVER forgive what the nurse and The Cottages did to my mom. May the nurse who hurt her and the director who tried to blame me live with what they did. Response to owner: It's impossible you don't already know about this incident. I reported The Cottages several times over a couple of years and your facility was investigated many times but with so few openings for senior care living, DSHS and the state won't shut down even the worst facilities. The treatment of my mother was retaliation for me reporting those issues. I can only hope and pray the cruel manager and nurse, and the director at the time, no longer work there and that they get their just rewards in this life.

This place is nice although a bit above the budget we were looking for. The staff seems friendly and accommodating as well when doing a search.

This place is very frustrating if you actually want to talk to your loved one! It's hard to get through. Most of the time they don't bother answering the phone. They don't return calls when messages are left. When they actually do answer the phone, it's always answered by someone that doesn't know how to transfer calls. I get hung up on constantly when they attempt to transfer it. Or they say they don't know how to so they tell me to call back and they'll let it ring until someone else answers it. They really need to train their employees on how to use the phones. It's kind of an important part of the job!
