At The Goddard School located in Alexandria (Old Town), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
I can't say enough good things about this Goddard location! The teachers are amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the education my pre-schooler is receiving is top notch. It seems like every week they are introducing something new to challenge and engage the students. Highly recommend!

Our child attended this Goddard location from six months old to 19 months old, and she only left because we are moving. She went through their Infant, First Steps, and Toddler classrooms, and each one was so well-suited to the age she was at that time. I particularly love that whenever we would walk her to and from her classroom, every staff member we passed seemed to know her name, even if they weren’t her teacher - it felt like a team approach. Shout out to Ms. Manyuri, Ms. Breanna and Ms. Mia, and Ms. Nataly and Ms. Paris, just to name some of the amazing teachers who worked with our daughter! We don’t have family in the area, so daycare was our “village,” and all of her teachers took amazing care of her.

The Goddard school of Alexandria is truly great! Ms. Shawn and Ms. Jewel have been wonderful with my son. The first few weeks were tough for him, but I could see how patient and caring they were, always doing their best to help him adjust and keeping us updates. Ms. Anu and the administration are also very responsive and genuinely caring. If your biggest priority is safety and knowing your child is treated with love and respect, I highly recommend this place!

The Goddard School of Alexandria has been a wonderful experience for our family. I would absolutely recommend it to others.
My 4 year old daughter loves the staff, and their dedication to creating a positive and engaging learning environment is evident.
We've been particularly impressed with the variety of enriching activities offered this summer, such as Splash days,
Mother Goose on the Loose, the Bubble show, and the Science show.
These events, along with the regular curriculum, have helped her further develop her reading and basic math skills.
We are grateful for the care and attention she receives.

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
