TLDR - a beautiful, older building in the community, it serves a Christian sect who preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ founded upon the teaching of Jesus Christ as given in the King James Holy Bible, as well as the Book of Mormon. Nice people, uniquely designed building, and we'll worth the visit.
Details:
The building is old. I'm not sure when it was built, but the architecture alone is worth a visit. The chapel has a 3D mural detecting a scene from the Bible where Jesus speaks to the woman at the well. The chapel is a very cool room with that, and the exposed beams.
The people who worship in the building are Christians - just look at the name of their church! But they preach of Christ, teach of Christ, and reference Him and His Gospel throughout their worship, if you pay attention and know your scriptures. They teach from the KJV of the Holy Bible as well as other scriptures (Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price) that seem to support the Bible.
Worship consists of a 50-minute "Sacrament Meeting," where the lay clergy (100% volunteered work) lead the congregation in the passing of bread/water that is "in similitude" of the savior's Last Supper, to renew covenants & remind partakers of Him, and all He has done (and still does) for them; then the remainder of the meeting is filled with hymns, talks, and testimonies focused on the Savior and His Gospel. The second (and final) meeting is divided by adults, youth, and children - for adults, their classes are either Sunday School (where class members discuss the Savior &/or some aspect of His Gospel), or divided into Relief Society (women) and Elders Quorum (men), where class members discuss the Gospel in a slightly more tailored perspective to their respective class. The classes for the youth and children are similarly focused on the Savior &/or His Gospel, but the discussions, songs, and lessons are tailored to their appropriate age group. Those who attends church meetings are no better or worse than one another, and all are somewhere along their path of learning and growing in the Gospel, and their relationship with the Savior. All are welcomed to attend meetings, whether members of the church or not.
That's pretty much the gist of it. The people I've interested with seemed to be genuinely nice people. Very kind, caring, and welcoming. I've visited other church buildings where people are more caught up in the meetings than the people around them, but every those groups have been fine to visit, although not as nice as the group I met here.
