We enrolled our daughter at this daycare in December 2025 after moving to Sugar Land and leaving a daycare we loved. While the facility itself is nice, our experience with the teachers and curriculum was very disappointing.
Like many 2-year-olds, our daughter struggled with the transition, but the teachers showed very little warmth or effort to comfort her. On one occasion, she was left sitting alone crying for over an hour because she did not want breakfast after already eating at home. My wife ultimately had to call the school after seeing this on the camera feed.
The curriculum and activities also felt very weak and often seemed staged for daily photos rather than focused on actual engagement or learning.
After two weeks with no improvement, we made the decision to withdraw our daughter despite the penalty. We chose not to provide a reason for leaving, and the administration showed little interest in asking. Since enrolling her at another school, she has been thriving.
The facility looks great, but in our experience the teachers and administration seemed disengaged. I would not recommend this daycare
This place should get zero stars. For starters the director acts as if she actually cares and she really doesn’t. You can barely get a response (if any) from her when there are issues.Staff is unprofessional and honestly there is not enough staff for student to teacher ratio. That’s why children always end up with scratches, bruises, or some sort of injury because there is not adequate supervision. 16:1 and all the front staff does is sit on their behinds and not provide any assistance!! On top of that staff are allowed to be “transferred” to different classrooms after being accused of hitting a child but not fired! It’s no accusation because on more than one occasion it’s been witnessed by myself and others of a teacher shoving a child’s head to get him to go inside a classroom. But of course there will be a comment saying “we have no records of you in our system” when the truth is being told. What a joke. There’s no regard for safety and very much noticed favoritism especially for staff whose children attend the daycare. Not to mention how they just let children urinate/poop themselves that are in training process because they are too lazy and understaffed to meet needs but they make sure the pick parents pockets as often as possible !! The curriculum is also a joke. Child learns more at home than at this place !

I was really looking forward to enrolling my son here and had high hopes based on the reviews. As a first-time daycare mom, I expected the transition to be emotional and it was. Naturally, my son began crying and calling for me when I tried to leave.
What was disappointing was the response from the teachers. I understand that classrooms can be busy and there is a lot going on, but they knew a new child was starting that day and should have approached the situation with more gentleness and patience. Instead of comforting him or helping him feel safe in a brand-new environment, they seemed overwhelmed, huffing, shushing, and loudly directing the other children away from the door, which only startled him more. In that moment, I didn’t feel reassured that he was in a calm or nurturing environment.
Additionally, I had completed all required paperwork in advance and informed them of our start date. However, when I arrived, staff seemed unaware of my son’s information and dietary restrictions. I was asked basic questions that should have already been documented. For a facility with strong reviews and above-average pricing, I expected better organization and preparation.
Ultimately, the environment did not feel warm or comforting, and I’m grateful I was able to witness this firsthand before fully committing. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

It’s time for an updated review. I have two sets of twins (10 & 8) and a 2-year-old who have attended this daycare for about five+ years. Overall, we have had positive experiences despite frequent staff turnover.
I want to recognize Ms. Leen for her quick response during a medical emergency involving my youngest child, who experienced a febrile seizure. She acted immediately, administered CPR, and contacted me, which helped ensure my child’s safety. The owners also handled the situation appropriately and met with me the next day, which I appreciated.
My experience at Children's Lighthouse-Imperial was amazing. My 3 year old truly enjoyed being in Ms. Eliza and Chinelo's class. They are very sweet to the children.
