My mom has lived here for 6 years. She loved it and is sad to have to move due to very declined health. She always enjoyed spending time in her beautiful apartment and gardening and sitting out on her lovely porch with a view of nature and a gorgeous pond/nature reserve behind her! She always enjoyed the food too. There are always fun activities and though she didn't often join those, the staff all still got to know her well and showed such care for her making her feel a part of the community. The other residents are lovely as well. Front desk, kitchen staff, servers, housekeeping, facilities, and management are all SO KIND. We lived close by and were there often and can attest to how well run and great a choice Creekside Oaks is! Highly recommend!

I'm disappointed in the food being served. The meat always seems to be overcooked and not very tasty. Staff however, always nice and pleasant. The surroundings are always peaceful and quiet.

Creekside was a pleasant place to live until the recent change in management. The new activities director, Becca spends money on expensive and unnecessary decorations and plays favorites with the residents. She treats some residents poorly by not allowing them to participate in some activities, she also holds exercise classes that are not are appropriate for most of the elderly residents. She makes a job that is supposed to be about the residents and what they want into a job about what she wants. The manager, Charles does not listen to to the residents when concerns about Becca come up, Many of the residents are tired of feeling like management does not care.

Frequently Asked Questions About Creekside Oaks Retirement Community

What is Independent Living in Folsom, CA?

Independent living communities cater to residents who need minimal help or no help at all with their activities of daily living – like bathing and dressing –but do want access to the myriad of benefits and amenities that retirement communities offer. In an independent retirement community, residents rent private apartments or cottages and then take advantage of shared spaces and amenities like walking paths, on-site gyms, and restaurant-style dining. Although residents live independently, some available services provide a more comfortable retirement, like chef-prepared meals, lawn care, home maintenance, and on-site salons. Independent living communities allow residents to experience resort-style retirement for a fixed monthly rent, which is both predictable and affordable.

Are Folsom Independent Living Facilities licensed?

Because senior independent living facilities do not offer medical or personal care, licensing is not required. For this reason, most independent living facilities who only offer one level of service are not licensed with a state board or department. However, some communities – often called continuing care communities – offer independent living in addition to other levels of care, like memory care or assisted living. Because these facilities do offer medical and personal care, they must be licensed by the department of health. Licensed facilities are subject to periodic surveys from governing bodies to ensure they continue to meet the requirements for certification.
