  Keep in mind if moving someone here that almost all of the residents have dementia. You will not be told that upon renting. They had a fire and moved my 90 yr old relative to their other facility and put in a room with another resident, during covid, on a mattress on the FLOOR. Only one hard chair in the room and one small TV. This was for weeks, I understand things can happen but putting a 90yr old on a mattress on the floor for weeks is not ok. Also any opportunity to raise the rent will be taken advantage of. I gave 2 stars because there a few good people that work there and they know who they are.

  When my mom was no longer able to live in her senior community in August of 2018, I had a very short time to find a suitable new home for her. Complicating the situation was she (and I) was located in Dallas, TX, but her wish and her son-in-law/grandchildren's wish was to re-locate to Waco (~110 miles south of Dallas) where they were. So walking into Brookdale Lakeshore for the 1st time was very stressful, as I'd been to a couple of other senior communities in the Waco area that were highly recommended, yet when I visited them they were either poorly maintained or the staff were indifferent to our challenges (or both). THANK GOD WE FOUND BROOKDALE LAKESHORE! My girlfriend (now wife) is a health insurance agency owner had suggested we check them out, and we immediately knew it was the place for my mom. From day 1, the management team there (Betty & Ed) took the time to hear our needs and reassure us that she would get excellent care there. She is currently in her own 1 bedroom apartment as she is still able to manage the majority of her daily needs. But the staff is always available and willing to help her with other tasks that she occasionally forgets how to do. Brookdale Lakeshore just blew away the other senior living situations in the Waco area that we reviewed for cleanliness, support, and activities for the residents. My mom's 1 year anniversary there was on Oct 15th, and I cannot thank Ed, Betty, and the entire staff enough for their help, support, and love to make her living there as comfortable as possible. It’s truly a relief to know that my mom is so well taken care of, and I’m so thankful to have found Brookdale Lakeshore in Waco for her. I highly recommend them to anyone that has a family member who needs to be in a similar setting in the Waco, TX area to check them out for their services and see if they would be a good fit for your loved one. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!!

  Good folks over there at Brookdale Lakeshore! They go above and beyond when it comes to their residents and always willing to lend a helping hand with community events.

  During my time spent at Brookdale, I noticed the loving and welcoming environment from the employees to the residents. I had one resident come to me and tell me how much she appreciated the employees for all they do for her. One of the employees happened to walk by the resident and the resident hugged the employee. It was so rewarding to see the resident praise the employee for working hard. It made me realize how the employees and residents are family!
