My mother has been at Brookdale for 3 1/2 years, she feels safe and enjoys interactions with the staff. She likes the activities and conversing with the other residents. It is very clean and well maintained. Sergio, Chesney, Albert, Oscar and Bobbi have been accessible and pleasant to work with. I appreciate all the precautions they have taken during this pandemic and the updates on changes they have communicated to me. We are pleased with the care here.

Although my mother is not memory-challenged, the interactions with staff (vs other residents) at Brookdale keep her stimulated and engaged. It was a good call to choose this location for its smaller, less institutionalized atmosphere while still guided by corporate structure and processes. Any and all activities entertain and cheer her, though we wish there were more on the weekends. While the precautions for COVID are frustrating to her, they are necessary, and the caring, cheerful nature of the staff and their understanding those frustrations are helpful. She absolutely adores Albert, Sergio and Oscar as well as the majority of the staff. Thank you for caring about her!

Everyone is so very kind. Management is always trying to find ways to help financially or any other way they can. Brokedale is a cozy family environment. I am so very grateful for all they do for my father.

I'd like to see how close residents can go to see water view. Do they have a sitting area near the river or walking trails along it? FYI - poor nursing care from LVN who does not know as much as an RN. She was not interested in educating herself in order to give better care either. Patients call caregivers 'nurses' , BUT they are not even CNA'S. I explain how I came to that conclusion below. This place is all about making money and do window dressing to get you in the door. Beware if patients could have complicated diagnosis or it could become complicated because their care level is so low that their liability is also low. If my mom died or broke a hip from a fall or something due to low blood oxygen, forget taking them to court because they just say "We are not a skilled nursing facility with RN'S And CNA'S, not our fault. My mom was in Brookdale in Arlington, Texas. She had emphysema so M.D. ordered 24 hr. Oxygen which we had to pay an extra charge. $200-250 per month for staff to take it off and put it back on after meals, due to short staff/over busy or hiding - it was not being done. I told the nurse (LVN) that oxygen is a medication. She said it wasn't so I asked her to check it out. Never happened and paid for care happened in often. I suggested that instead of logging that they put oxygen back on while sitting in the office, that they make sure by putting a log in mom's room. It is like the ones they have with date and time for cleaning. That would assure us that it had or had not been done, I. e. we would know if "your mom takes off the oxygen" as caregivers, not registered CNA's, and nursing staff said or they really were not doing there jobs. Mom would fall and get hurt when her blood oxygen was low. This was never done and problem never resolved. We took her out or it was just a matter of time... CHECK STAFF REGISTRATION. IS THIS PRETTY PLACE GOING TO GIVE THE CARE YOUR LOVED ONE NEEDS?,
