Local Cremation & Funerals was established in 2010 with a very specific purpose. It was to fill a need in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Lewisville, and Arlington areas for an alternative to expensive traditional funeral homes (also called funeral establishments). Our team is always available to answer questions about Local Cremation & Funerals, the arrangement process, or what options are best for your loved one. Not convenient to come to our location? We are happy to meet you at the hospital, nursing home, or another location that works for you.
Savannah was amazing throughout the difficult process. Everything seemed effortless even though there was a lot going on behind the scenes. Call Savannah and leave the rest to her.

Our recent experience with Local Cremations was excellent. From completing the online process, to the regular updates from Audra that kept us informed of every step in the process, the team at Local Cremations provided an exceptional experience under the circumstances. Our family appreciated the compassion they showed us throughout the process. I would highly recommend Local Cremations.

Audra is truly a God send blessing. I loss my baby and found out 11 weeks into my pregnancy. The hospital was giving me a hard time to get the baby sent to the funeral home to be cremated. Audra kept reaching out and contacting them for me so I wouldn’t have to. It has been a stressful and emotional time for me and my family. I am so grateful she stayed on it for us. Thank you so much I truly can’t express how grateful I feel!!!! Now I will have my little angle baby with me forever!!❤️❤️❤️

Highly recommend Local cremation and funerals for anyone that has to take care of final arrangements for a friend or loved one. Frank, our funeral director, is the most caring and respectable man I have ever met. They walked us through the entire process and show so much kindness during this time, I will be forever grateful ❣️

I made advanced arrangements at Local Cremation and Funerals for both of my parents who passed away nine months apart. Upon each of their deaths, the business office was unable to locate the arrangements that were made two years earlier. When I provided the insurance information to the office staff I was carelessly informed that they use a different insurance company.
When my father's cremated remains were prepared, I received a phone call from an employee who said, "Guy, I have your dad's ashes ready to drop off." Though dismayed by the level of unprofessionalism, I let it go. Nine months later, when my mother's remains were prepared, I was not notified at all. After waiting five weeks from the time of her passing I called to learn that her remains had been ready for a month. I spoke with manager, Frank Seddio and expressed my disappointment that my mother's remains were left to sit for a month. Additionally I remarked on the deficient service I had experienced at the time of my father's passing, I was told by Mr. Seddio, "I cannot speak to nor apologize for what happened nine months ago."
While care, compassion, and professionalism are advertised on the Local Cremation and Funeral website, my experience was utterly opposite.

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
