At The Goddard School located in South Kingstown, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
Anyone who has had to weather the storm of finding a suitable and comfortable daycare for your children can attest, our arrival for our three-year stay in Rhode Island was no different. On top of that, being a military family, our decisions on such matters often have to be rushed so that both of us – as working parents – can continue our working lives and at least have somewhere our children can go during the day. Because Goddard was close to us, the location was an obvious choice. Fortunately, when we did our initial walkthrough, we had no questions left that it was the place we wanted our kids to attend.
With all that being said, we had absolutely no idea how amazing Goddard would be for our boys. Between our oldest, who started in classroom seven, and our youngest, who made his way through classroom five, the two of them touched all but one classroom. Throughout their time, the Goddard staff showed our children the care, attention, and joy that we strive to do at home. Whether it be our kids going through a disciplinary issue, or just an update on how they were progressing in a positive manner, the staff always kept us informed of how our kids were doing. If we ever had concerns, they were willing to stop and address our thoughts over the phone, as soon as we walked in, or any other time we needed. Simply put, working with the development of children in a school environment is a team effort between parents, teachers, and administration. The Goddard School of South Kingstown does this in the most exemplary way possible; we never felt out of touch, that we weren’t being communicated with, or that the staff had anything less than the most important thing: our children’s best interest. Unfortunately, our time in Rhode Island came to an end, or we would have let our youngest stay enrolled in Goddard until he graduated and went to Kindergarten.
If you are looking for a school for your children in the South Kingstown area, Goddard is simply the best there is. Watching our children’s growth and development over the years at Goddard was in no small part due to the role their staff played!

My daughter attended The Goddard School from 18 months until she started kindergarten at age 5, and it was truly a wonderful experience overall. The teachers and staff were always so accommodating and understanding, not just with her but with our family as a whole. They supported Waverly through all her stages of growth, and I always felt like she was cared for and looked after.
The school’s hours were also incredibly helpful for a working parent, and I appreciated how consistently they were open and available. Most of the teachers were excellent, nurturing, patient, and creative. Of course, there were a couple I didn’t fully agree with along the way, but what stood out to me is that the administration always listened. Anytime I had a concern, they were open to hearing me out and willing to work with me, which gave me peace of mind.
I’m so grateful for the role The Goddard School played in my daughter’s early years. It gave her a strong foundation in learning and social skills, and I’ll always appreciate the support they gave us during such an important stage of her life.

The Goddard School in South Kingstown was an outstanding experience for both my daughter and myself. Over the two years our daughter attended the school, she was constantly engaged with the professional staff and show remarkable improvement in her learning skills. The Goddard School facility and staff is amongst the best we have seen in the southern RI area. The staff worked closely with us to ensure all our paperwork was completed and processed in a timely manner. This meant a great deal of financial stress was lifted from our lives. I would 100% recommend this institution for both day care and Pre-school. Thank you again for making my daughter's transition to elementary school seemless.

For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
