I have had four children go through Goddard with Jillie and Jon at the helm- with the last one currently in pre-k. Each of my children is different but each has thrived in the Goddard environment and with the teachers that are all so invested in the success of the kids. My children are/were always excited to go to school and came home with a lot of stories about what they learned or did every day. I just wanted a safe place for my kids to go to daycare but found not just a safe place that would care for my children but a community that helped them learn and grow.

Our family absolutely loved our time at The Goddard School of Philadelphia on Pine and the Annex. From the very beginning, the teachers and staff made Max and Mina feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn. We were continually impressed by how much they grew, both academically and socially.
Their teachers were incredibly caring and patient, always creating a fun, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment. It was wonderful to see both kids come home eager to share what they had learned each day, whether it was new vocabulary, science projects, art activities, or lessons about kindness and teamwork.
We also appreciated the school’s strong communication, organization, and the sense of community they built among families. It truly felt like a second home for our children.
We would highly recommend The Goddard School of Philadelphia on Philadelphia on Pine and the Annex to any family looking for a place where their children can thrive, learn, and be genuinely cared for every day.

On August 25, 2025 around 3:30 PM at Fitler Square Park in Philadelphia, I witnessed two Goddard School teachers interacting with very young children in a way that was deeply concerning.
One teacher, a young blonde woman, appeared extremely frustrated with a small boy who wasn’t sitting perfectly still. She forcibly and with far too much aggression held him down while the poor child seemed utterly confused and helpless. The second, a gray haired middle-aged woman, then abruptly ripped the boy out of the stroller and placed another child, into the seat with excessive force. The middle aged woman was speaking with a venomous tone which left the children looking frightened, confused and depleted.
The behavior I observed was rough, aggressive, and inappropriate for the care of such young children. As someone who saw this firsthand, it was heartbreaking and raised serious questions about how students are being treated under this school’s supervision.
I immediately reported this to the schools secretary who was gracious and took my complaint seriously. I hope something will be done to correct this behavior.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills.
