The staff at Cumberland Crossing have been wonderful. I misunderstood a situation that had occurred with my mother, who was transferred from a hospital yesterday. I lashed out at the Nurse Practitioner, the Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing. All three of them were patient with me and handled the entire situation with complete professionalism. I truly believe that my mother will receive the best care here at Cumberland Crossing. I think that the takeaway lesson for me should be shared with other patients and their families: don't jump to conclusions about situations, particularly in health-care. Had I only raised my questions and concerns in a rational manner the whole mess could have easily been resolved. I lost my temper based on erroneous assumptions and I caused damage. I will forever regret my words and actions. Cumberland Crossing has a totally dedicated staff that truly cares about patients. The facility is peaceful, clean and full of caregivers who deserve respect and admiration.

My parents lived at Cumberland Crossing for more than 30 years. They enjoyed their cottage and the greater Carlisle community very much. The staff was attentive and worked hard to take care of the residents needs and concerns. My personal dealings with the management was professional and I found them to be helpful with everything I needed to have done. If your looking for a community for your aging parents, Cumberland Crossing would be an excellent choice. Clean, affordable, well maintained, and a real sense of community.

The people who run this operation are preditory scammers. They will lie to your face and then put a lien on your parents house. My father had to be admitted to this facility after a knee surgery. He has cerebral palsy and it was too much for my mother to care for him at home. When his insurance denied further coverage I decided to remove him from the facility. I explained it was less than ideal but he was unable to afford the payments. They insisted he stay and assured us that he would qualify for medical assistance. I reached out several times over the course of 2-4 weeks with no response trying to follow up on his MA status. Once Cumberland Crossings discovered that he would not be covered, only then did they start his discharge planning and slapped him with a bill that would be absolutely impossible to pay. They were intentionally misleading with this arrangement and completely blind sided my father. He and my mother are on a fixed income and have been saving what little they have to pay on the balance, around 100$ a month. Cumberland Crossing was not satisfied with what they were able to pay so they put a lien on their home. After speaking with the insurance company, it turns out they never even filed a claim for his medical treatment, leaving my father responsible and not utilizing his insurance. Once we were told that he would be responsible for the balance, I removed him from the facility that afternoon against medical advice to avoid further bills. My father put in over 30 years as a state worker. He has had cerebral palsy his entire life and never asked for a hand out from anyone. It is incredibly unfair what Cumberland Crossings is trying to do to him by manipulating him out of what little money he has managed to save. This is my first ever "review" I've written but if it's happening to my father, I'm sure it's happening to other people that have gone through this scam. We are in the process of getting a lawyer to fight this giant company which I'm sure will cost more money, more time and create more stress for my parents. Keep your family as far away as possible from these people or they'll threaten to take your elderly parents home away from them right before Thanksgiving.
