At The Goddard School located in Portland (Bethany), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
We LOVE Goddard! My sister's kids in MN went to Goddard and I have always been impressed with their experience, so when we moved here and saw there's a Goddard down the street we looked no further! They're so warm, supportive, and in love with the kids. Our son is constantly smiling, and sweaty, when we pick him up. Meaning, he had a blast! Plus he learns a lot and is thriving. The staff from all levels really listens and cares as well, that for me has been super comforting.

My child has been part of the Goddard family for three years now. He loves going to school and has nothing but positive things to say about his teachers. The school provides unique opportunities for the kids, like bringing an entire petting zoo to the school parking lot, specialized music and sports sessions, and visits from the FLIP museum. When issues have arisen, the staff handled them swiftly and appropriately. If you are looking for a stable and nurturing environment, Goddard is a great choice.

We’ve unfortunately been around the childcare block in the Bethany/Hillsboro area, and Goddard has consistently stood out at the top! It's really a gift to drop your kid off and know they are in good hands. Also, no other school we’ve seen invests as much time and care into the wide range of daily activities and fun special events for the kids. Most impressively, many of the teachers our now–8-year-old had as a 1-year-old are still there—a true testament to the supportive administration and positive environment. Thank you, Goddard!

Our son has been with Goddard (Bethany) for nearly a year and he is thriving. We have really enjoyed the open communication, the academic program and the culture of learning through fun that the school has set. Would recommend this school to any parents looking for a well established and proven track record of daycare.

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
