At The Goddard School located in New Albany, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
Our baby loves it here, loves his teachers and never has a problem being dropped off. The staff and teachers are long term and have great relationships with the children.

A video implied that my child was left crying, completely unsupervised in the bathroom with the door closed while other kids were eating popsicle celebrating the birthday— something they themselves admitted in their own incident report.
Instead of pursuing legal action, we gave the center a chance to do the right thing. But communication was a nightmare. When I asked for the incident report required by OAC 5101:2-12-23, the owner diverted my request and even claimed it was “illegal.” Only after I sent her the law did I finally receive it. Their conduct seemed inconsistent with the law, yet they accused me of being illegal.
Only the teachers apologized in person; the owner and directors never did, barely any greeting when dropping off the kids, as if the incident never happened. I would rather forgive the teachers than the owner. This daycare is cold, careless, and entirely commercial — putting their own interests above the safety and well-being of children.
I never imagined that changing the owner could turn a daycare into something so drastically different.
I deeply regret not removing my child immediately when the incident happened, which led to the subsequent terrible communication and wasted so much of my time.

We enjoyed sending our son here for 2+ years before moving to North Carolina. Ms. Cat, Ms. Ally, Ms. Arnie and Ms. Kim were amazing. Thanks for everything.

I was heartbroken by the new ownership at Goddard of New Albany. After years of wonderful experiences, we enrolled our children in summer camp, hoping for the same joy. Instead, my youngest came home crying every day, feeling miserable and uncomfortable. My oldest, who is on the spectrum, faced difficulty despite having an aide. Watching my youngest struggle to protect his brother was devastating.
One day, my youngest told me he spent his lunch break hiding in the bathroom because he felt so overwhelmed. My oldest, who used to love going to school, started dreading camp mornings and would watch out the window waiting for our return. The owner never acknowledged us, always glued to her computer during pick-ups. It felt like we were invisible.
When we decided to withdraw, we were hit with a 30-day notice requirement and told we'd be billed for the entire summer camp. The contract's clause about cancellations after April 30th felt like a trap, leaving no room for a trial period. This rigid policy felt like our concerns were dismissed.
My advice is to proceed with serious caution with the new ownership. After leaving, our aide had informed us that she was approached about concerns with our eldest going on field trips. We never knew. No conversations with us happened. I can only assume any atypical child isn’t truly welcome.

Finding the right school for my 2 sons was the most important and stressful aspect of moving to Ohio from Connecticut. As a working mother, knowing that your kids are ok and are in good hands relieves a lot of that stress. I cannot emphasize enough how incredible the Goddard School has been. The teachers trully care for my sons and treat them as family members. In less than a year I've seen my 4 year old son speak Chinese and Spanish and my 3 year old son develop friendships and a love for leaning and school. After visiting most of the schools in New Albany, my husband and I are thrilled with our choice and can't imagine them being anywhere else. I would recommend the Goddard to any family looking for a nurturing, supportive, caring, stimulating environment for their kids.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
