At The Goddard School located in Jackson Township, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
We thought we would trust in the Goddard reputation but we're sorely disappointed. We started on the October 21 and paid the full tuition deposit and partial month which was nearly 2k. Our daughter went for a week and we voiced concerns to owner and director Elizabeth (the same Elizabeth below who has a recent positive review of the school which seems a little shady to me). We were locked into contract so paid 2k for one week of terrible care. Below are the concerns I shared verbatim email to director which her response was to shrug them off "it's that way every day care I have worked"
understand she only started October 21st and there is an adjustment period for everyone bunch unfortunately we have been unhappy with Goddard.
Summary of some of our concerns:
1. Cleanliness of room, toys, play ground equipment
2. She hasn't been eating and we have asked about more communication about this but have not received anything ( she actually lost a pound in less than two weeks)
3. Staff lack of effort to help her get use to environment. Teachers have not been very warm or caring from few observations.
4. Cold season is coming. Kids noses aren't being wiped or hands or toys that I've seen. She had been sick as a result already.
5. Her diaper does not seem to being changes enough and is wet always when picking her up.
6. I saw an Ohio report yesterday that indicates these may be ongoing concerns at Goddard jackson and worse issues with background checks. Leaving me unconfident changes could occur.
7. She is crying or looks as she was just crying every time we pick her up.
8. She is having an exceptionally hard transition. She will not longer sleep unless we are holding her and still waking multiple times at night now until we tell her we're there. She does not want us out of her sight. She is obviously struggling with attachments and feeling safe which breaks our hearts.
The report mentioned is the ohio state inspection which she also shrugged off as they always find something. If you search other local daycare Kindercare Belden is gold star and all about kids is bronze star. Goddard jackson nothing. This was our first try in daycare so I was unaware this information was put there for the public. Hoping this information helps someone not make the same mistake we did.

Goddard school of jackson township has created a second home for my girls! We were moving from SC to the OH area and it can be nerve wracking on a school/daycare to select. From calling to touring and when the girls started it’s been great! Very welcoming and warm. My girls are happy everyday and excited! Have made amazing friends. Truly thankful they are there and I never have to worry.

I unfortunately cannot speak to the school. I scheduled a tour for 10 AM on 6/18, drove 30 minutes here just to be asked to reschedule due to them not knowing they had a tour. I was sent multiple reminders so it’s unfortunate that they did not as well. I will not be rescheduling a tour because I’m turned off by the lack of consideration or even lack of apology for the huge inconvenience

We love this school! Our kids are learning so much here. We can see our kids minds growing at this school. It's comforting to know that my kids are beyond prepared for when kindergarten comes. We can't say enough positive things about Goddard.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
