Our son has attended The Goddard School for almost three years. I truly can't say enough about the amazing staff and program. We love that we can go to work knowing he is happy, safe and very well taken care of. If we ever have a concern it is addressed immediately. So thankful that we have found and become family at Goddard School .

We absolutely loved the teachers and directors here, but decided to leave because of our dealings with the owner. We were at the school for almost 2 years before finally deciding to look for other options. During our time there, we had multiple billing issues, and it got to the point that I felt the need to go through our bill each month to check it for accuracy. One month we didn't receive a bill (nor did any other parents), I had to ask multiple times to get one. He was rarely responsive to e-mail, and seldom in the office, so I usually had to leave messages with the staff if I had a question or needed something.
I have attempted to give constructive feedback in the past, but I was then questioned about it, and made to feel uncomfortable about rocking the boat. I had asked for billing information to find out how much I would be paying for the next level up for my children, and the owner would not give me a clear answer. This lack of transparency in pricing made me further lose faith in his billing practices. He sends e-mails out to all parents reminding them not to park in the Handicapped spots, but I constantly saw his car in those spots (he has no handicap plates or tag).
It was a hard decision to leave because our children loved their teachers, but for what we were paying to send them there, we expected a higher level of service from the owner and to be treated like we were more than just numbers in his bottom line.

My wife and I took our time visiting and evaluating daycares in the area while she was pregnant. We were concerned and worried about choosing the right one for our daughter. We committed to Goddard because of the standard of care and learning that they uphold. After she was born, and my wife returned to work, we found that Goddard did not disappoint. We have been very happy with the care provided by our daughter's teachers. Ms. Rachel, Ms. Gentle, Ms. Heidi and Ms. Stacy are all wonderful. I can tell that they care about the kids and take the time to learn each one's preferences and quirks. They are attentive, watchful, fun people that I am happy to have take care of our daughters while we are at work. It is a pleasure to visit and see them so engaged with each and every infant in the room. I can not say enough about these four women. They do a wonderful job with our daughter.
I also enjoy the upbeat greeting every morning from Ms. Lisa and/or Ms. Karis. I am confident in their watchful eye and know that my daughter is safe while at the Goddard School not only because of her wonderful teachers but also because these woman are another line of defense ensuring she is dropped off and picked up by me or someone authorized by me. I am sure that little to nothing gets by these ladies.
I have been very happy with my experience so far with The Goddard School of Akron. You can tell that they put the effort in that is required to maintain an excellent child care facility.
Update: A year after this initial review all sentiments still stand if not stronger than before. I feel my daughter deserves the best and Goddard has proven they are the best over and over throughout these past two years.

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills.
