  My mother came to Brookdale Santa Fe on August 14 2024. She was previously at Legacy at Santa Fe in the Memory Care Section(Connections). She had fallen 12 times in 4 months, between April of 2024 and August 14, 2024 while her stay at Legacy at SF. I was contacted by phone by the ED from Legacy at SF, telling me that my mom needed to be at a Skilled Nursing Facility. I contacted Brookdale Santa Fe, spoke to Janet Garcia and I preceded to tell her what was told to me by the ED at Legacy at SF. Janet Garcia then spoke to her ED Pam Plaza about my situation. An assessment was done on my mother. August 14, 2024, my mother became a resident at Brookdale SF til her passing on September 5, 2024. Brookdale SF took her off the medications that she was on at Legacy at SF. She never had a fall at Brookdale SF, and she loved it and would often say what a beautiful facility it was. The Staff was amazing with her. My only regret, is that I should have moved her to Brookdale SF from day one. Janet Garcia and ED Pam Plaza, would check on my mom and the other residents all the time. That wasn’t the case at Legacy at SF. I highly recommend Brookdale Santa Fe, best decision you could ever make! Thank you, Brookdale Santa Fe!!

  First off let me say this is a mixed review and my grandmother currently lives in the Assisted Living area of the facility. My grandma did not want us complaining straight to management in fear of retaliation but there is one aide she strongly dislikes working with her because she states she always has a rude attitude, rough with my grandma and always seems to be in a hurry. In my grandmothers words “She does not seem to love her job so why is she here?” This profession you must enjoy it or leave. I will not name her on here to save face but she is the tall, heavy set one who always seems to have different crazy purple, blue, etc. colors throughout her hair. (Management should be able to point her out, there is only one) This aide, she must remember she not only employed with Brookdale but she is also a guest in each residents home. Speaking to other family members we have become friends with, it seems that they have had the same problem as well with the same aide. Maybe management can quietly pull her in and speak with her about her attitude and being impatient towards residents and hope things can change. There are aides that my grandmother LOVES and wished they’d work with her 24/7 for example Manuela, Shirley, Mary Kate, Sonya, Amy, Melanie and Jose, just to name a few, there are many more that she loves!! The woman that is continuously rude and impatient with her residents gets the one star, the majority of the facility and other staff get all 5 stars!
