The Goddard School in Wayne has been a wonderful fit for my child as he transitions into his first school experience. The administrative staff and teachers provide excellent communication, and I truly appreciate their commitment to cleanliness, an academically based curriculum, and consistent daily updates. As a first-time mom, I feel reassured knowing my 2-year-old is in such caring hands. With over 10 years of experience as an educator, I can confidently say we made the right choice, and I highly recommend The Goddard School in Wayne!

Goddard is a wonderful school. We sent both our children there over the course of several years. The standards have never changed. They have an exciting and informative (a quite frankly successful) curriculum. And they have attentive, thoughtful, and educated staff implementing it. A parent couldnt ask for more. Great place for any child (and parent!).

The Goddard School of Wayne has been nothing short of amazing for both of my sons and for me and my husband.
Academically, just based on our experience so far in the infant room and “two’s”, my children have grown immensely. The tasks and curriculum are age developmentally appropriate, engaging, and challenge the students thought processes. The embedded activities range from requiring and building upon problem solving skills, motor skills, decision making skills, and much more. On an SEL forefront, the teachers support relationship building skills, and the art of developing communication and empathy.
Staffing wise, the Goddard School of Wayne does an impeccable job. Every teacher that we have experienced thus far is fully immersed in their work with all children, every childs wellbeing, and the development of each child (major shoutout to Ms. Destin “Dede” who always goes above and beyond with our son, Nash). In no way have I ever felt like either of my kids had to fit a “one size fits all” mold. The teachers are flexible and adaptable to every students needs and truly understand the development and behaviors of each age group. Additionally, and what speaks out to me as an educator and Assistant Principal, is that the classes are made up of diverse populations and no child is denied acceptance; this, I believe, is a valuable societal understanding that kids should experience and learn to appreciate, even at a young age. The teachers also make it a point to fill the room of family happenings, the childrens artwork, cutely styled pictures of the kids, and much more. Every holiday or theme of the month is reflected on each students cubby with a family picture or picture of the student. Additionally, all teachers also decorate the doors and hallways with their own individualized themes, including cute pictures of the kids.
Looking into the building base functionality and safety, the safety of the students is of upmost priority. The building has multiple security measures and follows through with all. The functionality is also a well oiled machine where classes function around one another smoothly and efficiently, not only teaching routine but also structure within a larger community.
As for the leadership of the building, I can not speak enough to the flexibility, responsiveness, and understanding of both directors and the owner. Coming from a family of a mom and dad that work opposite shifts and often times require scheduling changes, they have been nothing short of amazing and flexible.
I cannot speak highly enough about this school!

My son attended for his Pre-K 4 year and we had a great experience! Everything was organized and detailed. He loved going to school, adored his teacher, peers, and learned so much that he is ready for kindergarten.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
