This place is horrible ! The new kitchen director Elliot has came in and took my Mothers two options away as far as lunch and dinner options. The residents don’t get any types of vegetables. He has now switched over to feeding the fourth floor memory care resident on desert plates. If my mother don’t want the one option only other option is a dry , stale sandwich . I’ve witness them eating food off tables due to the plates being too small. The memory care residents also have no activities they have them sit in front of a tv all day. The aides do the best they can , they need way more help than what is there. Also mom’s laundry is always piled up. Communication here sucks ! Nurses never have an answer for questions. You can’t go to the ED because she’s very dismissive. The fourth floor memory care unit needs to be shown more love, care, and compassion, they are still humans!

So disappointed. #1 assisted living?! By whose standards?! My mother has been there for three months and is now completely bedbound. There is zero communication amongst staff and there is no way to get in touch with anyone in the nursing station. Completely understaffed. We purchased a $1000 mattress for my mother-in-law with a heavy duty Mattress cover to ensure that it would remain intact. However, because the staff are completely incompetent, neither the cover or sheets were placed on her bed, which became soiled to the point of absolute neglect. Additionally, the room is infested with fruit flies. All of our concerns have gone unanswered, and she is currently in the hospital with terrible bed sores. Don’t walk away from this place, run!

Run!!! I would not take a dog to this place. The memory care floor is a mess -the smell of urine hits you in the face as soon as you get off the elevator. They walk a fine line between assistant living and memory care. They try to sell you on this place like a used car salesman and you get nothing. People have passed here from neglect. My family member was in a few places and this was the worst. The turnover for workers is alarming and the medical team does not have a clue what they are doing. My family member was taking to the hospital and they sent us to the wrong hospital. Half the time the phone is not working. Please keep looking especially if you are looking for the memory care they are truly not cared for it's a disgrace!

My mom has lived at Brookdale Echelon Lake for 17 years and those years have be wonderful. We have seen lots and lots of staff turnover and as sad as it is to see them - another lovely human fills the spot. The nurses have always been professional, kind and incredibly supportive. During times of sickness - if I can’t be there - the nurses are. The front desk staff has always been great - the community is kept clean and attractive by our very hard working aides and maintenance staff. Our event coordinator is fun and full of life. She keeps the community busy. Check it out - I think you will be happy!
