The staff at John E Day Funeral home were all compassionate, friendly and very thoughtful during our time of need. Ted was professional and respectful from day one. Jasmine, Emily, Josie, and Amanda were all a big help as well. I had so many questions that they promptly answered. There was someone always available to answer my call and/or emails. On the day of the services, they made the day as comfortable and seamless as possible. I would highly recommend.

Amazing place. Loved and trusted Ginny Sanzo, the Funeral Director. She took a very difficult situation for me and my family and made it as easy as possible by just listening, being sensitive, caring, professional and reliable. She was so responsible, helpful, and resourceful in so many ways to try to fulfill our requests. It was a wonderful experience for us at this funeral because of Ginny. I couldn't thank her enough, she was really the best and is such a professional. I highly recommend this place.

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.

John E. Day Funeral Home provides funeral home, burial, veteran, memorialization, cremation, and life celebration services, including Pre-Planning Services and Aftercare grief assistance.

Also, notify clergy and decide on funeral details; the funeral home can assist with death certificates and obituary submissions.
Are funeral services available at any time?
Yes, John E. Day Funeral Home is open 24 hours a day, including federal holidays, and can provide immediate assistance upon request.
What are the differences between burial and cremation?
Burial involves placing the deceased in a casket, while cremation is a less expensive alternative allowing memorial services to be held later. Cremated remains are placed in an urn and can be buried, placed in a mausoleum or columbarium, or scattered according to state law.
