At The Goddard School located in Montclair, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
My son has attended The Goddard School of Montclair from the time he was 11 months (Infant Room) to 3 years old. The owner and director (Marie Anne and Alissa) are very attentive and the school is very clean and well organized. The teachers have been AMAZING. They are very warming, provide a detailed daily report, alot of pictures, and enjoy what they do. The curriculum is very play-based, but also provides STEAM focused activities that are structured. I love the GODDARD app that the school utilizes to communicate with parents and share photos and videos. My son's class was also diverse which I really loved and I enjoyed how the school decorated their space based on holidays and cultural events. We are truly sad we had to leave due to relocation, but I very pleased with The Goddard School of Montclair.

Highly recommend! The teachers are fantastic - attentive, caring, and genuinely invested in the kids. The curriculum is advanced yet fun, and the environment is both friendly and nurturing. My two boys are excited to go to school every day, and I always know they’re in great hands. We couldn’t be happier here.

This is a wonderful school! The teachers are loving and nurturing. The director and the manager are hands on and personally involved in everything - they run a very tight ship and they're always there to answer questions and support the kids (and the parents!) There is a strong curriculum as well as many fun extracurriculars (soccer, ballet, cooking, gymnastics, water play etc.) This was the first formal schooling experience for our kids and it was absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend this school to everyone!

I would 100% recommend!!! This isn’t just a day care, but it’s more of a learning center with a fun twist. I am very happy with all of the staff. In less than a year my 2 year old has come such a long way. I couldn’t be more grateful for the teachers & staff! Thank you Goddard of Montclair!!!

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
