Been attending Church of the OBX for about 3 1/2 years and members for over a year. Awesome Pastor/youth Pastor/ staff and volunteers!! I personally serve with the youth and other capacities of the Church. I’m 45 years old, married, with 14 and 12 y/o daughters. This Church is the first Church my family has served in for years. Pastor Jamie is amazing and loves on every single person. I love that he preaches “relationship with the Lord” rather than teaching “religion”. Very diverse congregation from all ages, races and backgrounds. Church of the OBX is a come as you are Church. As Pastor Jamie puts it, “God will meet us WHEREVER we are in life”. We focus on outreach from our local community to across the globe! Come check us out for sure! Final plug. Shoutout to Pastor Mike and all he pours into our youth!! He’s building the future!!

If you’re looking for a place where faith, community, and ministry come together—give it a shot—you won’t be disappointed. From day one, we felt a level of community that most churches talk about but rarely deliver. This church is full of young families, kids, and people who are hungry to grow together in their walks with God. And it doesn’t stop on Sundays. The weekly small groups, activities, men’s and women’s gatherings, and regular community events have made it incredibly easy to build friendships and get connected. You’re part of the family long before you expect to be. The worship team brings their absolute best every week. Worship is always passionate, intentional, and heartfelt—never lacking. Pastor Jamie took time to sit down with me over coffee just to hear my story and understand where I was spiritually. That level of intentionality is almost unheard of. His messages are grounded firmly in Scripture, delivered with clarity, historical background, humor, practical parallels, and zero hesitation when it comes to difficult topics. He teaches the truth. The youth ministry is awesome! The team genuinely connects with kids of all ages, and you can see it in the way the kids respond. Our children feel welcomed, valued, and excited to be there—which matters more than anything to us as parents. This church is growing—not just in attendance, but in depth, momentum, and spiritual hunger. God is moving here and I can't wait to see what He does next through Church of the Outer Banks.

I’ve never felt so welcomed by a church before. This church makes me feel so comfortable and they have become family. I love that the sermons are so Word focused and we really focus on relationship instead of the legalistic religion that I’ve experienced in the past.

The Church of the Outer Banks is focused on Biblical teaching. At each service the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. God is worshiped and people are encouraged to love one another and walk in His ways. There are a wide range of ages in attendance. Nursery and children’s church are options for the youngest. Youth, young adults, women, and men have active ministries. Many Bible studies and community groups occur at regular intervals, inviting intentional study and prayer. It is a blessing to be involved with this group of sojourners.
