- JSjohn sahlstromSep 25, 20255.0My 87-year old mother, with dementia, needed a place to go after hip surgery for physical & occupational therapy, while being under the care of nurses and a doctor. My father, husband, brother and sister are very glad that we sent her to Folkestone Care Center; she stayed there 3 1/2 weeks. She enjoyed the devoted caregivers individually, men & women, the chef & his tasty food in the dining area, the therapists' skilled attention and how thoughtful and concerned ALL of the staff were! The week following, at home, Mom talked of missing the Folkestone community! The staff & the place had been "growing on her"! Lastly, as Mom and I are working through additional IN-HOME care now back in Wisconsin, the physical therapist has been so surprised at how strong Mom is and how she can do most all of what she asks of her. And as her daily care-giving daughter, I noticed and continue to notice how well Mom can steer her walker, manuevering it however she needs! She could NOT do that BEFORE at home!
