  Have had a terrible time w/scheduling lately ! I have severely hurt my lower back about two weeks ago. I called at that time and they claimed they could get me in THAT afternoon. I was over-joyed, struggled to get down there with a cane and the receptionist informs me my appointment was in two weeks ! Why would I agree to that ? I proceeded to the Emergency-room for service. So, I called last week for a followup to this situation, appointment this morning @ 8:30am, I even commented to the operator I thought they weren't open until 9:00am, she said NO, they open @ 8:00am. Crawled in there in pain again, and guess what, the appointment timing was wrong again !!! I do not have time to dance around incorrect scheduling, I am in pain and hate going in the first place. The receptionist @ the office claim its the Kalamazoo switchboard......I don't care, this is a very poor way to run any business !!!

  I've been going here since I was 8 years old but have always been forced to see the nurse practitioner instead of an actual doctor. I have requested multiple times to see a doctor instead and they always tell me they are not accepting new patients. I refuse to believe that no slots have opened up over the past 24 years for any of them!!!! My mother, my sister, my husband and I have all seen the nurse practitioner that is currently there (Capps). She is nice but all she does is Google our symptoms right in front of us and I'm sorry, but I can do that at home for free! None of us have been very pleased with the care (or lack thereof) that we've been given. Since they wouldn't let me see another doctor, even after having been a loyal patient with them for over 20 years, I decided to call another clinic to set up an appointment. They needed a referral from my primary care provider so I called SHFP and they refused to refer me elsewhere, which made me kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place! I then requested my medical records so I could get a new primary care provider at a different practice and they only sent me the last 5 years. When I asked for my full record, they said it would be a ton of extra work for them and acted like they didn't want to do it. I told them I needed my full record before transferring practices and they responded, "Fine, but it will be at least a few weeks before you receive it". Very unprofessional, uncaring, and not service oriented at all! Go somewhere else that actually cares about people and helping them when they are sick!

  Patricia Capps has proven to be the perfect choice for my husband and I. She is compassionate, competent, knowledgeable and provides excellent overall health management. The staff is efficient, helpful and always courteous.
