At The Goddard School located in Hanover, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
I cannot emphasize how much we loved our time at Goddard. I could always trust that my son would be taken care of as I knew all of his teachers genuinely cared. The owners, directors, and staff truly create an amazing atmosphere for making learning fun. Between the extracurricular activities, the family events, and the little everyday things (like lofi playing in the lobby lol), I knew we couldn’t have found a better school for our son to begin his academic journey. Thank you thank you thank you! Shoutout to Ms. Carmen, Ms. Kennesha, Ms. Lori, Ms. Jade, Ms. Melvise, Ms Christina, and the rest of the Goddard Hanover team. We will miss you tremendously.

My child attended The Goddard School for less than a year. Initially, we were excited about all the extracurricular activities the school offers, including the indoor gym, which is perfect for inclement weather. The school hosted many activities and celebrations, which we also enjoyed as a family.
Everything was good—until it wasn’t.
We began receiving daily calls for at least two weeks, asking us to pick up our child because he didn’t want to nap. A meeting was eventually held, during which we were told our child’s behavior was “unacceptable”—though none of this had been communicated to us prior to that point. It was suggested that we get him evaluated, but there was no follow-up or support from the school afterward.
Our child was evaluated by three different professionals, all of whom noted that his behavior was typical for his age. They also emphasized that children are not usually evaluated for concerns like ADD or ADHD at just four years old. Interestingly, we were told by these professionals that they had received several complaints and referrals from this particular Goddard School location.
It seems that when a child doesn’t fully conform to the school’s program—or becomes a minor disruption—they are quickly labeled as a problem. We began the process of removing our child shortly after.
That said, there are definitely some positives. Ms. Melvise, Ms. Rayven, Ms. Kay, and Ms. Tiffany were always great to work with—kind, professional, and caring. The activities and inclusive celebrations were things our child genuinely enjoyed right up until the last day. The summer schedule for 2025 also looked fantastic.
Some of the cons: high teacher turnover, unfriendly office staff, rude classroom staff including those who were hired for the summer.

Very disappointed that my grandchild was pretty much forced out of the Goddard School of Hanover. Not taking naps and saying “no” a lot. Kiddie Academy in Hanover gladly accepted my grandchild and they knew how to address the issue. No more “problems” and how much my grandchild grew academically in three months was AMAZING!!! (I live out of state). THANK YOU KIDDIE ACADEMY OF HANOVER.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
