At The Goddard School located in Edgewater, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
Goddard is full of friendly faces who make learning fun for our girl every day. Most of the staff seem genuinely happy to be there and I know that the staff are treated well by management/ownership. The families who come here support each other. The school has plenty of fun events and opportunities for families to get involved.
The app that is used for daily updates on our kids is one of my favorite benefits - sometimes getting pictures during the day and always descriptions of lesson plans. At the end of the day we are able to see what our kids ate, potty times, nap times. Overall a very organized, clean, and positive establishment!
Our daughter tells us she had fun and a good day every day here, and she can also tell us about the stories the read, songs they sang, and friends with whom she played (2.5 yo).
If you are interested in this center, get on the waitlist ASAP. It is in high demand.
Unrelated to the actual school, the location is fantastic. Adjacent to the Main Street shopping center, there is everything you need right next door and even a kids dance studio, swim school, and more.

We’ve been impressed with every single experience from before the first day of school until now. The staff is wonderful, the facilities are great and always clean, and the app has been really nice to let us feel connected and “in the loop” with our little one. .

We love the Goddard School! They go above and beyond for their students. The teachers clearly love their job and the enthusiasm I see when my child shares what she did in school tells me how nurturing and caring they are with their students. I always know my child is loved and cared for.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at The Goddard School of Edgewater. From day one, it’s been clear that the teachers are everything here—they truly make the school what it is. They care deeply about each child, create a nurturing environment, and go above and beyond to support growth, learning, and confidence. Our kids love going every day, and as parents, that peace of mind is priceless. We’re so grateful to be part of this community and couldn’t recommend the school more highly.

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.

To ensure the health and safety of everyone, if an outbreak occurs and a child has not been vaccinated, they will be asked to stay at home.
