At The Goddard School located in Watertown, we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
We had a very disappointing experience with this school. About 5 months prior to enrolling our daughter, I ended up experiencing a change in my employment and was no longer going to be working. When I contacted the school to let them know of this change and that our family wouldn’t be able to afford to go and keep our daughter enrolled, they refused to return our deposit. The deposit itself is nonrefundable, which we know legally we didn’t have in our favor, but we gave them very advance notice and under normal circumstances you only have to let the school know about a month or so in advance once a child is enrolled that you’re removing them from the program. They were still able to fill my daughter’s spot and didn’t return the deposit regardless. They wanted me to enroll my daughter for a month and then unenroll just to not lose out on our investment, which is highly inappropriate both developmentally and also a logistical nightmare for a 1 year old. We also contacted the Goddard Corporate office and they actually hung up on us when I indicated that this felt like really poor business practice and questionable ethically/morally. To know they’d take a substantial sum of money from a family during an economic time like this is disappointing, to say the least. I would not suggest any family engage in business with leadership who would conduct themselves in this way. There are so many other great options in the area, wanted families to know in advance what could be at stake. Thanks for reading.

Love this place. My baby loves his teachers so much, and he always has the biggest smile when he sees them in the morning. Highly recommend!

We are so happy with our time at Goddard. The school's teachers and administrators are kind, caring and engaged with the kids. We started at about at 9 months old and our child has had wonderful experiences with all her teachers and is now so confident and ready for kindergarten thanks to their fun hands-on curriculum. Great outdoor play space and easy parking for drop off and pickup make it easy for the grownups too

Really happy with the care, more expensive than other options but reliably open and longer hours are important to our family

I went in to get a tour of the school. Spent an hour of my time and then discussed possible program that would be suited for my daughter. They said they would reach out with availability. They Never did! I attempted to reach out multiple times but they never answered me. What a waste of Time. Also the rooms seem very small for the children and the children sleep on these cots during nap time with no padding. Seems for the amount you would pay they could get nicer beds for the children

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
