Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.
From the time you pull into the Temple parking lot, you feel the peace and Love of God & Jesus Christ enveloping your Heart & Soul. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, the Temple gives us the opportunity to do essential ordinances (by Proxy) for our posterity who died without hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ while they were alive. Every child of God has to be given the choice to accept Jesus Christ or not.

An LDS temple is always a beautiful place to walk around. This one is no exception. Stopped here on our road trip to get out and stretch our legs. Stunning temple - nice and peaceful!

Best place I’ve ever been and I’m just a kid only a deacon I’ve been there 5 times and it’s my favorite place in the world. Baptisms are just… great j love doing them and that mental warm feeling and the physical cold feeling afterwards makes me feel, special that I’m able to use my body to baptize people that didn’t have the chance.

I grew up in Mississippi (by the way, the day will come when they announce a temple in Mississippi and I will faint) and the Baton Rouge Temple was our temple. The last time I was here was in 2012 to stand in as my father to seal he and my mother together. It was so very nice to make the drive in early and participate in the ordinances here. The office staff were so very accommodating to shoehorn me in on such short notice. I hope to return again very soon. I highly recommend this temple, and all of the others for that matter!!

the house of the Lord is the best house to be in. 1 Nephi 11:8 reminds me of the beauty of the Temple and it is an honor to be worthy of visiting.
