If you really care for your loved ones do not use this facility. There is a reason this is the only place with a bed available. The treatment of my 91 year old mother was horrible and it led to us pulling her out early and with very little notice. Problems that I visibly seen when visiting were the following. 20 minute room call times, fecies & blood all over the bathroom. Soiled underpants, pants & socks. Filthy wheel chair. I found my mother in a wheelchair soiled in urine crying without a call button within reach. Sitting in front of a blank television and that was the last straw. These are the things that happened with our family present, so you can imagine what happens when you’re not.

I had a wonderful experience here. I've been in the physical therapy section twice now for different reasons and will end up going again (my condition is an ongoing affliction). The nurses are kind and understanding. The CNAs were fast and friendly and didn't bat an eye about tending to my needs and didn't make me feel bad or humiliated when I couldn't do for myself. The physical therapy team worked with me to gain some independence with my latest surgery. The administrative people were efficient and went the extra mile to make sure I would have what I needed when I came home. My room was private (thank God) and was cleaned every day by the nicest of ladies. Even the snack lady was great. Did I have to wait? Sometimes, but I've done in-patient physical therapy in other establishments where the wait time was excruciating. I had to wait here too, but never to the point where it was unbearable. I just kept in mind that they are one or two people spread out over a number of patients and I am not their only patient nor are these people my servants. I hope to return to this facility after my next surgery.

Cannot recommend this at all. Hate to do this but have to for other residents. Here it goes…didn’t want to post all this but need to. All private pay here which we should be reimbursed-but we know Brookdale has a “large arsenal” so probably won’t happen…Understaffed, no housekeeping, medication errors-(I found pills in med cup on moms nightstand not taken) apparently staff doesn’t witness resident taking meds, (4 that I know of “no injury falls” ) I had to clean up my mothers emesis (on floor in bathroom on my hands and knees) from the Nora virus she caught there in her bathroom due to no housekeeping, once when Mom threw up I was there nurse gave Zofran which was ordered, but didn’t record it because later that evening Mom needed it again and the nurse said she never got it that day-once I found the call light was wrapped around my mothers arm apparently to “teach mom” how to use the call light, mom wasn’t toileted correctly ending up getting a UTI and never had one in her 97 years of life. Staff would complain about no help-there were some very helpful-but unfortunately outweighs those who tried. I stayed very professional and attempted to bring things to staff I was concerned about-things never got better. Moms Care plan never got implemented. We had a friend stay with mom as much as possible and she witnessed issues also. Once mom was having shortness of breath at night (mom was with hospice and outside agency who still followed mom there) I was notified by the friend-I called the outside hospice on call-the hospice nurse wanted to talk live with the Brookdale nurse on the floor-that nurse couldn’t be reached to get “eyes on Mom” I went to brookdale and couldn’t find a nurse anywhere finally did and hospice ordered meds for mom for that nurse to give Mom. This was about a 90 min episode that was Poorly mismanaged by brookdale. Also another night a family member of a resident couldn’t get help for that family member was upset and apparently raising some problems - the staff called 911 …. Really? That could have been averted if the staff was available and had the professionalism to calm a family member down. What about the other residents there who would have been scared about all this? We did move mom as soon as we found another place she moved in Dec 13, 2022 and we moved her to an amazing place Middle of Feb 2023 where she received 5 star compassionate care from everyone from the lovely girl at the front entrance to the kitchen staff to the housekeeping and of course the nursing staff…she was treated with dignity and compassion. There were other issues also…but these 2 months were hell for mom at Brookdale (who NEVER complained) I felt like I threw her to the wolves. Apparently the RN who oversees this was terminated 2 weeks after we moved. Disaster central-so sad for any resident there
