At The Goddard School located in Overland Park (Metcalf), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
Goddard is a very nice school and a good place to work. My son is also a student and he has adjusted well here. The curriculum is great and I am pleased with all that he is doing. As a teacher there as well, I enjoy the flexibility I have to modify the curriculum and suit it to fit my kids needs.

In the Fall of 2023 we began looking for childcare. It was hard touring places and not feeling confident afterwards. When we toured Goddard on Metcalf, we knew immediately this was the location for our son. From the director down to the teacher assistants, they were so welcoming and I instantly felt secure and trusted in them to take care of our son. Our son was then a 6+ week premie and began at just over 3 months old, and my trust and connection never diminished. The staff is so caring, supportive, genuinely cares for your child and your family, and has the best communication skills. I highly recommend Goddard on Metcalf without annoy reservation.

We have had all 3 of our kids here and love it. Great facility, clean and reliable. The management and front staff are amazing, couldn’t say more about teachers, specifically Juli and Mr Matthew. I recommend without reservation!

Between my two youngest kids, we were at Goddard for the last few years, with our youngest one finishing up at Goddard just a few days ago. It has been a great school for them. The kids only had positive things to say about the teachers/staff, and the kids were cheerful when I picked them up. No matter what time I arrived to pick up and drop off, there was always a positive atmosphere and everything was under control. The staff and teachers seem to really care about what they do. I can't think of a single negative incident during our entire time there, which is actually quite amazing with a group of energetic preschool aged kids, heh.
The daily reports with photos that are provided are great too. I could see a good mixture of growth, learning and fun. The completed activities the kids would bring home every day made that all the more evident.
Perfect is such a high bar to set, but I really feel like my kids had a perfect preschool experience there. Thanks Goddard staff and teachers!

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
