WIC benefits and other funding are provided by the Indiana WIC Program supervised by the Indiana State Department of Health.
WIC provides nutrition food benefits to supplement diets, education and referrals to additional community services for eligible individuals (pregnant women, breastfeeding moms up to one year after delivery, non-breastfeeding moms up to six months after delivery, infants and children up to age 5).
The St Joseph County WIC team consists of Registered Dietitians, Nutritionists and Registered Nurses. Additionally, the WIC breastfeeding support team consists of IBCLC’s and Lactation Specialists to support you in reaching your breastfeeding goals.
WIC helps families by providing supplemental healthy food benefits and education. These benefits can be used at participating stores via the WIC EBT card they receive from WIC to purchase their foods.
