At The Goddard School located in Indianapolis (North), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
Safety and care are the two most important things I look for when searching for childcare. I've always felt both of those things attending Goddard. My kids feel so loved by their teachers and enjoy going to school to see their friends every day. Any parent knows the burden of cooking for kids, so it's a relief to know our kids eat well at school when they regularly remind us our cooking isn't as good as Ms. Shelby's. We've made great friends with other parents and the staff. Our oldest was set up so well for Kindergarten, education-wise, but also in her ability to listen and to adapt to new and different situations. I am very thankful for the school!

Being a preschool teacher at The Goddard School is more than just a job. It's a daily adventure filled with laughter, learning, and the joy of watching young minds blossom. Each day brings new opportunities to inspire creativity, encourage curiosity, and make a lasting impact on the lives of my students. There's nothing quite like seeing the world through their eyes and being a part of their journey as they discover new things. There are amazing staff that work here as well! And I’m not just saying that cause they are my co-workers. I’m saying that because they are TRULY amazing! Your children are in the best care here!

As a mom, finding a school that truly “gets” your child is everything, and The Goddard School does just that. The teachers are so creative and caring, and they give the kids space to explore, imagine, and grow in their own way. My child has blossomed here, not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. I also love how the staff work with parents. It feels like we’re on the same team, all focused on helping our kids thrive.

This school has such a loving and welcoming atmosphere. Every teacher greets the children with genuine warmth, and you can feel how much they truly care. My child has grown so much in confidence here, they come home beaming, proud of what they’ve learned and created each day. It’s such a wonderful feeling to know your child is surrounded by people who make them feel safe, supported, and celebrated.

I truly love working at The Goddard School! It’s such a welcoming place that really feels like a family. The parents are so involved and genuinely invested in their children’s growth and education. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t just a daycare — it’s a true preschool where learning begins even in the infant room. Watching our babies grow, learn, and reach each milestone all the way through graduation is such a rewarding experience. I’m so proud to be part of this amazing team and school community!

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
