- BDBrianna DownsDec 6, 20251.0DO NOT BURY YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. This place has been nothing but heartbreaking. Again and again, I’ve been disappointed and deeply saddened by the lack of care, the unreturned phone calls, and the complete absence of accountability from management. Families trust this cemetery with the people they love most, and that trust is absolutely not respected here. When we first discovered damage to my sweet niece’s headstone, it took multiple phone calls, multiple voicemails, multiple emails, and a formal demand of care letter before anyone from management bothered to respond 2 weeks later. The damage was confirmed to be from their outsourced mowing crew, and we were told it would be replaced by the cemetray. Now, weeks later the headstone still hasn’t been ordered to be replaced, which my sister was being very understanding about given the Thanksgiving holiday. However, when we visited today, it was completely covered in dirt. Indicating their grounds crew still lacks oversight, care, and respect for such a sacred place. Not a single headstone around hers looked like this. Once again we’re heartbroken, confused, frustrated and left waiting for management to prove that our loved one’s resting place matters to them at all. Families deserve better. Our loved one deserves better. And this cemetery has shown us, repeatedly, that they simply do not care. And PSA: please don’t comment to contact Ben Upton as you have put under other negative reviews because it took him two weeks AND a formal demand letter to finally respond to us. DO BETTER. Please.
- EUEloise UrbanOct 7, 20251.0We are extremely dissatisfied with the grounds keeping at our parents grave. How disappointing to arrive and not be able to read the headstone because it is covered with crabgrass and mowing debris. We just cleaned this headstone in May and trimmed all the overgrown grass away from the edges. We have NEVER seen the condition of the cemetery to be so overgrown and weedy. This is not what my parents paid for when choosing Oaklawn Cemetery. In your business you need to respect the headstones and keep the grounds in good condition. You can buy crabgrass control products. It appears no one in management ever walks this cemetery to see if it is properly maintained. How sad.
- DSDionne SSep 29, 20251.0Very disappointed in the upkeep. The flat markers are not holding up as the gold accent color on the lettering has almost completely come off. The ground crews mow over the markers and leave cut grass all over them. Weeds have grown up to the point of climbing up the vases and growing across the markers. I was very upset to see the condition of my family's site and those around them.
